ABOUT

MARC REDMEIJER

Who does not have these sweet childhood memories of going to the movies. The magic of the flickering screen, the energy and wonder you felt as a kid. I used to have sleepovers at my grandparents when my granddad took me to the movies, preferably 2 times during my stay. Together we went to see a lot of Jean Paul Belmondo, James Bond, Bud Spencer and Terence Hill movies. For sure I got the filmbug from him, telling me stories about his clandestine cinema during the war, his love for Madge Evans and his Hollywood medallion. This filmbug has never left me (up to the present day) and my education in photography, masterclass photography (KABK The Hague) and the film academy (NFTA Amsterdam), and my work as a photographer, electrician, gaffer and cameraman brought me to the wonderful profession of director. I think you could say that I am well-prepared. As a director, I want to use the power of that passion and my creativity to do projects that touch and inspire people. Themes such as sustainability (built to last) and diversity (no monoculture) are high on  my list, because I think we should tell each other different stories if we want to create a better, cleaner and safer world . As a person and a director, I value connecting people and showing trust in their qualities.

Oh..... and I really love drinking coffee and talking about films and series, but also about my core values, so do not hesitate to contact me for an appointment, it is always nice to meet new people.

Cinema is an engine for empathy,
because it allows you to enter that something else,
that someone else, that somewhere else,
to pierce the veil that separates us from one another.
